We offer College Readiness Workshops to students in Kindergarten through grade 12 to demonstrate the opportunities available and benefits of a college education.

Underprivileged youth and first-generation college students often have a more difficult time applying for and transitioning to college—and that’s if they’re aware of the opportunities available to them in regards to a college education in the first place.

Through the College Readiness program, we’re opening students’ eyes to the opportunities available to them through a college education and arming them with the knowledge and skills to succeed through the application process and once they arrive at the college of their choice.

College Readiness for Elementary Students

Workshops for younger students in elementary school plant the seed of college and a tertiary education as a possibility. They’re focused on raising awareness and teaching children about different types of careers and offerings, including activities like vision boards and virtual tours.

Middle School and High School Students

For middle school and high school students, the College Readiness Workshops become much more concrete. Classes meet weekly for a semester and cover aspects of financial planning and assistance for college, as well as best practices and tips for completing college applications and essay writing.

“We didn’t know where to start helping Carlos prepare for college applications, much less financial opportunities. Carlos is much more confident now and has mentors for life.”
